Excavation Technician
About The Position
Masters is looking for an Excavation Technician who likes working with their hands, operating equipment, and seeing a job come together from start to finish. As an Excavation Technician, you’ll be part of a hardworking team tackling a variety of projects—from locating and repairing broken water and sewer lines to installing new septic systems and completing excavation projects of all kinds. If you’re dependable, safety-minded, enjoy working outdoors, and take pride in a job well done, we want you on our team! Every day can look a little different. You’ll help keep projects moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 6 months of excavation, construction, or general labor experience
- CDL required — Masters is willing to help you meet this requirement within your first 6 months
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physically demanding work throughout the day
- Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Comfortable working around trenches, crawlspaces, underground utilities, and heavy equipment
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
Responsibilities
- Perform site preparation, trenching, excavation, and backfilling
- Hand-dig in areas where equipment cannot safely access
- Load, unload, and organize tools, materials, and equipment
- Spot and guide equipment operators to help maintain a safe jobsite
- Assist plumbers and operators with pipe placement, measurements, inspections, and repairs
- Keep tools, trailers, equipment, and jobsites clean and organized
- Follow all safety procedures, signage requirements, and excavation/dig regulations
- Help ensure work is completed accurately and according to project specifications
- Participate in required training and jobsite safety meetings
- Jump in wherever needed to help the team get the job done right
