Excavation Site Support
About The Position
This role involves supporting excavation sites and engaging with the community. Key responsibilities include communicating with residents near the excavation area, notifying them of upcoming work, reminding them to move vehicles, and answering basic questions. The position also involves site and traffic support by monitoring vehicle movement, ensuring safe passage, and coordinating dump truck movements. Additionally, manual labor is required, such as sweeping and shoveling dirt and debris, cleaning work areas and dump trucks, and assisting the excavation crew with light-duty tasks. Maintaining a professional appearance on the job site is also important.

Responsibilities
- Communicate with residents near the excavation area in a professional and courteous manner.
- Notify residents at least one day in advance when work will be taking place in front of their homes.
- Remind residents to have vehicles removed from their driveways before 7:00 a.m. on scheduled work days.
- Answer basic questions from residents and direct any technical or project-specific questions to the appropriate supervisor.
- Monitor vehicle movement around the active excavation area.
- Help ensure vehicles can safely and efficiently pass through areas where work is taking place.
- Coordinate the movement and order of dump trucks entering and leaving the work area.
- Sweep and shovel excess dirt, gravel, and debris from roadways and work areas.
- Keep the immediate work area clean and organized.
- Clean excess dirt and debris from dump truck tailgates before trucks leave the work area.
- Assist the excavation crew with other reasonable light-duty tasks as needed.
- Help maintain a professional appearance around the job site.
