About The Position

The Excavation Operator will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to excavation, foundation work, and utility installation. This role involves daily coordination with supervisors and subcontractors, laying out footings, excavating and pouring concrete footings, installing drainage systems, backfilling foundations, preparing areas for concrete slabs, and excavating trenches for utilities. The operator will also be involved in installing roof drain piping and constructing septic systems, drywells, rain gardens, and other subterranean water storage systems.

Requirements

Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be an insured motorist.
Must possess ASI-56 Certification.
Must be able to travel to the jobsite(s) as assigned

Nice To Haves

CDL license preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct Daily "Work Huddles" each morning with Superintendent and Excavation Laborers and Subcontractors personnel to coordinate and communicate work expectation for the day.
Lay out footing off scheduled stake out.
Excavate form and pour building footings on single family detached, single family attached and multifamily apartments.
Install footer drain tile and stone along foundation to manufactures specifications, foundation back fill and installation of footer drains.
Back fill foundations and tamp accordingly.
Install and prep stone beneath slab to grade to allow for concrete.
Excavate all trenches for utilities exterior and interior installed by but not limited to subcontractors in a safe and osha approved manor. This will include water, sewer, electric and gas etc.
Excavate and install the roof drain/downspout piping.
Construct and install septic systems.
Construct and install drywell, rain gardens and any subterranean water storage systems.
