The Excavation Crew Lead is responsible for assisting the Excavation team carrying out a variety of tasks such as tidying up work areas, unloading materials, preparing worksites, cleaning debris, and executing other tasks as assigned. The Excavation Apprentice holds important roles on the Excavation sites by expediting the completion of underground plumbing projects. This role involves working with the Excavation Team to dig and set septic tanks and whole systems, sewer lines, water service, and gas lines to code/quote specifications, properly grading trenches for sewer line pitch, and safely operating excavation equipment. The role also includes basic troubleshooting and diagnosing of residential plumbing issues, clearly communicating inspection findings and repair options to the Excavation Lead, and performing all plumbing repairs and placements to code. Additionally, the role requires working with tools associated with drain stoppages (snakes, cameras, hydro jetters, etc.), performing basic maintenance and upkeep on equipment, and ensuring that all tools, equipment, supplies, and assigned vehicles are clean and maintained. The position also involves collecting money owed at the time of service if necessary, maintaining compliance with all OSHA Safety Regulations and City Ordinances, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining a high degree of integrity and loyalty toward the company and brand. Safety consciousness on the job and while driving is paramount. Participation in all training exercises and morning meetings is expected, along with living the Core Values in every interaction. Other duties as assigned.
