Freedom Excavating & Trenching is looking for a dependable Excavation Laborer to join our crew. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active during the day, and being part of a crew that takes pride in getting the job done right.

About Freedom Excavating & Trenching
Freedom Excavating & Trenching was established in 2014 as a subsidiary of Lynn Electric & Communications in Lawrence, Kansas. Our crews install underground electrical utilities and data infrastructure and support directional drilling projects for developers, contractors, and utility companies throughout Lawrence and Kansas City.

Work Environment
This position involves outdoor work in all weather conditions and around heavy equipment. The role is physically demanding and may require lifting up to 100 lbs, bending, digging, and standing for extended periods of time.

Requirements

• Construction or outdoor work experience preferred
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to follow direction
• Takes pride in supporting their crew and doing quality work
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to perform physical job demands throughout the day
• Valid driver's license required

Nice To Haves

• CDL
• OSHA 10/30 preferred

Responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced operators and foremen on excavation and trenching jobs
• Help install underground electrical utilities and data conduit, including digging trenches, placing conduit, and backfilling
• Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment as the crew needs them
• Use hand tools and power tools to support excavation and utility installation work
• Spot equipment and help guide operators working near trenches and existing utilities
• Keep the jobsite clean, organized, and ready for the next phase of work
• Occasionally operate small equipment when assigned under the supervision of an experienced operator
• Pitch in wherever needed to help keep the crew moving and the job on schedule
