About The Position

Works collaboratively with faculty members to create electronic exams, managing distribution of electronic exams to students, and serving as the point of contact for faculty and students to troubleshoot electronic exams. Responsible for all question banking and test development work associated with their assigned courses. The Exam Application Specialist I is expected to develop on-going relationships with faculty to help ensure alignment of exam items with the learning goals and objectives being assessed. The ideal candidate is expected to be moderately proficient in using electronic exam applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1 year of experience in an academic learning environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide basic troubleshooting support for faculty use of digital teaching and learning tools, such as a learning management system, exam software, or other instructional technologies.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, time management, and organizational skills as well as skilled at prioritizing and managing concurrent and overlapping tasks.
  • Must be detail-oriented with exceptional editing skills.
  • Work effectively in a professional manner with the University and school leadership, faculty, and staff.

  • Preferred experience working in distance higher education.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the ExamSoft item banking and exam delivery system for the assigned courses, organization of the assessments, and tracking item usage and statistics.
  • Prior to administration, conduct quality control testing of approved exam forms in Examplify to confirm all items appear as expected, attachments are included, approved resources are available, and item sets are administered together.
  • Maintain policies and procedures related to proctor responsibilities and secure administration of online proctored exams.
  • Collaborate with Student Accessibility Services to ensure accommodations are in place for high stakes exams.
  • Represent the CFE when making presentations to faculty and other professional audiences.
  • Work with team to develop learning materials and communicate new software features to faculty and students
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create, present, and maintain student onboarding materials. Assist colleagues with editing reports and reviewing and testing survey instruments.
  • Participate in learning opportunities to maintain knowledge on software and industry trends (conferences, webinars, etc.)
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure exam security (issue additional downloads, control exam scheduling, analyze exam logs, etc).
  • Report issues related to software or proctoring service to the Exam Application Manager.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and staff to create electronic exams for distance, hybrid, and campus-based courses.
  • Partner with faculty to support electronic exam development, including question type selection, assessment configuration, application feature utilization, quality control review, and post-exam reporting and item performance analysis.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting support to faculty and students on electronic exams and online proctoring environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to maintain exam security.
  • Assist with maintaining policies and procedures related to remote exam administration.
  • Continuous work with Student Accessibility Services to ensure accommodations are in place; update temporary accommodations as needed.
  • Attend seminars and conferences to acquire knowledge of current eLearning trends and advancements.
