About The Position

Receive, store and load building material for distribution to customers. This role requires the ability to effectively and safely handle a forklift and a chainsaw. The individual will be responsible for reading customer orders, shipping orders, purchase orders, and/or bills of lading to determine items to be moved, gathered, and distributed. Key tasks include counting, performing simple arithmetic, and physically moving materials by forklift or hand to unload incoming merchandise and load outgoing deliveries. The role also involves identifying products, accurately handling items as specified on written documents, cutting wood/beams as instructed, and maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse. Additionally, fostering good business relations with customers who pick up materials at the warehouse is essential.

Requirements

• Ability to effectively and safely handle a forklift.
• Ability to effectively and safely use a chainsaw.
• Ability to read the customer order, shipping order, purchase order, and/or bill of lading to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Ability to count and perform simple arithmetic.
• Ability to physically move material either by forklift or by hand to unload incoming materials from railcars, trucks; and, to load outgoing deliveries.
• Ability to identify products and accurately handle items specified on written company documents.
• Ability to keep warehouse clean and orderly.
• Need to maintain good business relations with customers who come to the warehouse to pick up material.
