This role involves evaluating and troubleshooting avionics engineering queries, providing solutions for testing and repairing electronic systems and components safely and professionally. The engineer will utilize their expertise to make sound engineering decisions under pressure and tight deadlines regarding installation, troubleshooting, and discrepancy resolution. This includes analyzing technical data, proposing troubleshooting steps, and engineering electrical continuity checks, operational tests, and acceptance tests per engineering and manufacturer instructions. The role requires reading and interpreting engineering wiring diagrams, system schematics, and aircraft manuals, as well as engineering the troubleshooting and repairs of harnessing for various aircraft systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 3 years in any job title involving engineering experience dealing with Aircraft systems including troubleshooting and problem solving in the aircraft manufacturing industry.
  • 3 years of working experience in CATIA and Enovia
  • 3 years of experience with procedures to assemble, install, terminate, and test wire harnesses to schematic specifications
  • 3 years of experience with engineering design specification and functional test procedure
  • 3 years reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, system schematics, and utilizing aircraft manuals
  • 3 years working experience with engineering documentation and drawings for accuracy and applicability
  • 3 years working with Interface system (Avionics and ECS [Environmental Control Systems]), EMI (Electro-Magnetic Interference), and EWIS (Electrical Wiring and Interconnection Systems)

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and trouble-shoot avionics Engineering queries as they arise and provide solutions for the testing and repairing of electronic systems and components in a safe and professional manner.
  • Utilize Engineering expertise to make sound Engineering decisions while under pressure and close deadlines regarding installation, troubleshooting, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Analyze and review technical data during investigation to propose Engineering troubleshooting steps to resolve these technical issues.
  • Engineer electrical continuity checks, operational tests, and acceptance tests per Engineering and the manufacturer’s installation instructions.
  • Read and interpret Engineering wiring diagrams, system schematics, and utilize aircraft manuals as necessary for troubleshooting duties.
  • Engineer the troubleshooting and repairs of harnessing for all aircraft systems including Flight Management Systems (FMS), Satcom and Airborne Radio Telephone Systems, EGPWS/TAWS, communications, navigation, radar, TCAS/XPDR, DME, autopilot/flight director, audio, ADF, Cabin Management/In-flight Entertainment (IFE), and other sophisticated avionics/electronics systems.
  • Creating, maintaining, and tracing EWIS requirement documents throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Developing and continuously improving system level EWIS designs, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Designing, building, and testing rapid prototypes, ensuring attention to detail and manufacturability.
  • Supporting and maintaining all certification-related documentation including DOA/DO A, AC 25.1701 1, AMC 20 23, and ARP4754.
