About The Position

Torch Technologies is seeking an EW Test Engineer to join a team to assist the 388th Electronic Warfare Squadron (388 EWS), 350th Spectrum Warfare Wing (350 SWW) at Eglin AFB, Florida. The 350 SWW is the technical focal point for all electronic warfare (EW) support of warfighter systems for the Combat Air Forces (CAF). The mission of the 350 SWW is to develop and test mission data (MD) to defeat enemy radar and infrared guided missile systems, thus enhancing aircrew and aircraft survivability in combat. This mission includes operational EW testing, MD development/validation/verification, force development evaluation execution and facilitating foreign materiel exploitation. As an EW Test Engineer, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to: Provide Developmental and Operational Test and Evaluation Management support for 350 SWW test, TTP development, and capability fielding activities in accordance applicable regulations and guidance. Coordinate tasking and documentation with MAJCOM staffs, ACC/A3T staff for TIP/TTPs and ACC/A5T staff for T&E and fielding. Manage and work within the 350 SWW for the development of test orders, test design, test plans, analysis, and reporting. Maintain repository of T&E knowledge and artifacts. In coordination with other Air Force test entities, develop and maintain standard test products for 350 SWW test support operations, including: EMSO-specific test products such as hardware and software requirements associated with novel waveforms. Act as OPR for scheduling of SWW participation in EW T&E consortium, Developmental Test Working Group, and other T&E-related forums. Manage the Test Qualification program for 350 SWW organizations. Coordinate with test and test support organizations outside of 350 SWW as required to support 350 SWW test objectives and requirements. The unit requires expert advice and assistance to plan test and evaluation (T&E) activities to include: Assist in the determination of test requirements, priorities, scenarios, profiles, schedules, budgets, collection and management plans. Determine system performance requirements, test objectives, MOE’s, COI’s, and MOP’s; Develop test methods and detailed test procedures, to include test plans and directives, data requirements, instrumentation and test support equipment requirements, collection forms and lots, and other products required for test execution. Coordinate with AF higher HQ, System Program Offices, test support agencies and ranges, and other organizations in order to effectively plan T&E events Formulate logistics and transportation requirements, and schedule test assets, laboratory facilities, and range facilities. Provide advice and assistance to the project managers, system engineers, and operations analysts to ensure that data collected to satisfy COIs, MOEs, and MOPs are statistically and operationally significant, and within funding and operational considerations and constraints. Provide advice and assistance to the coordination of system requirements with the EW system engineers. Prepare concept of test briefings and organize and participate in test plan working groups. Coordinate and develop 350 SWW test policy and procedures and develop plans in accordance with the same. Provide expert engineering advice and assistance for the execution of test and evaluation activities to include: mission scheduling; developing GO/NO GO criteria; providing aircrew and test support personnel briefings and post-test debriefings; monitoring system operation and recording data; collating/cataloging test MD; asset control from test control facilities, collection and recording of test data, reduction of test data and preparation of written status reports on the progress of test executions for Government approval; Support the production of 350 SWW technical reports and studies.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Masters' degree with at least ten years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of MS degree.
  • Possess a demonstrated ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Applicants must have a working knowledge of computer systems and an understanding of Windows-based personal computers and Microsoft Office software.
  • The successful candidate will possess the ability to communicate effectively both orally and written as well as the drive to help develop the test architecture they are tasked with supporting.
  • A Top Secret Clearance is required at hire, and the candidate must be eligible for SCI.

Nice To Haves

  • Operational EW experience on any CAF platform. If not, experience in USAF operational employment of Airpower, or similar combat arms experience is suitable for the position.
  • Previous experience in RF integration, EM spectrum management, antenna design, and digital signal processing is desired
  • Also desired is knowledge of EW weapons systems development, test and evaluation, range operations, and systems engineering.
