This is a full-time temporary position from June through August, with a shift from 1 PM to 9:30 PM. The role is non-exempt and offers a compensation range of $17.99 to $23.99 per hour. The EVS Technician is responsible for maintaining the facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through thorough washing and cleaning, including disinfection of infectious rooms. The position requires adherence to safety precautions, operation of mechanized cleaning equipment, and proper disposal of various waste materials. Key duties include managing trash, biohazardous waste, soiled linen carts, and restocking clean linen. The technician will also perform general cleaning tasks such as washing windows, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning fixtures. Responsibilities extend to checking vacant rooms daily, reporting needed repairs, and acting as a positive team member within the Environmental Services (EVS) Department. The role involves participating in interdepartmental process improvements, attending staff meetings, and utilizing a computer for training, emails, and the work order system. Effective problem-solving and collaboration with other departments are essential, as is demonstrating a professional and caring demeanor. The technician must ensure continual compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations, including reporting abuse and adhering to infection control, safety, and risk management protocols.
