About The Position
The EVS Tech is responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness within the hospital and adjacent buildings. This role involves cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, operating rooms, and common areas to prevent the spread of infections. The EVS Tech will also be responsible for proper disposal of medical and hazardous waste, restocking supplies, and maintaining floors, restrooms, and other surfaces. This position requires responding to urgent cleaning needs and communicating effectively using various devices. The role may require travel between facilities independently.
Requirements
- One (1) year of knowledge within acute care hospital environmental service techniques, practices and procedures preferred.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to read, understand and communicate effectively.
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, operating rooms, and common areas to prevent the spread of infections
- Properly disposing of medical and hazardous waste according to hospital protocols
- Restock supplies like gloves, masks, and cleaning materials in various hospital areas
- Clean and maintain floors, restrooms, and other surfaces using specialized equipment and chemicals
- Respond to urgent cleaning needs such as spills or contamination incidents and communicate promptly using phone, handheld radios, pagers, and other devices
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness within the hospital and adjacent buildings, which may require traveling between facilities independently
