About The Position

This position performs general housekeeping tasks in the Emergency Department at Logan Regional Hospital to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and meet hospital and Joint Commission standards. The scheduled swing shift is 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The caregiver works a rotating schedule of four days one week and three days the next, including every other weekend and holidays. A strict, consistent schedule is required to maintain coverage. Two positions are open.

Requirements

Demonstrated communication skills, including the ability to differentiate color-coded labels and/or chemicals and follow written and/or verbal directions.
Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet department needs.

Responsibilities

Clean and disinfect assigned areas according to department procedures.
Use cleaning chemicals properly in accordance with Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
Follow procedures for disposing of infectious waste and trash.
Handle and clean up emergency spills according to department guidelines, Joint Commission standards, and OSHA standards.
Follow infection prevention practices, including cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment.
Maintain work and storage areas according to established policies and procedures to ensure safety.
