EVS Supervisor - Full Time 8hr Days
About The Position
To provide management during the absence of upper management in order to continue the standard functions of the department, requiring strong managerial skills and keep upper management abreast of all vital issues. Effectively manage all EVS staff. Provide leadership, direction and acts as primary manager during shift served or when other upper level management is not available. Creates an effective and cohesive working relationship with department employees, department heads, all hospital staff, and the public. Ensures regulatory compliance for sanitation, for patients, guests, and employees. Ensures that public areas are appropriately sanitized, to project a strong, positive image.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High school degree or equivalent
- Minimum experience: Previous experience in a similar setting, required.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Able to work independently and see needs of the employees while communicating clearly with them.
- Familiarity with chemical sanitizers and general housekeeping functions.
- Ability to speak, read and write basic English.
- Must have positive attitude, and willingness to work as a team member.
- Position performs general cleaning functions in all areas of the facility.
- Must be able to work Saturday and Sunday.
- Must have the ability to meet essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
- Continuous walking, some bending, stooping and lifting.
- Generally inside, with occasional outside trips.
- Safety precautions necessary due to working with chemicals and equipment.
- Fast paced health care environment with constant interruptions from tasks.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of three years of experience as a supervisor or manager in a hospital or similar setting, preferred.
- Familiarity with Joint Commission requirements, preferred.
