Cleans and services building areas and patient care areas as assigned according to established procedures and schedule assignment. This role involves daily cleaning of assigned areas following specific procedures, including occupied and discharged patient rooms, washing walls, doors, ceilings, patient room furnishings, and windows. It also includes floor care such as dusting, damp mopping, vacuuming, and refinishing/burnishing floors. The position requires collecting waste, cleaning waste receptacles, managing soiled and clean linen, and moving furniture. The EVS Specialist is responsible for maintaining cleaning supply inventory, cleaning carts and equipment, and operating various cleaning machines like buffers, wringers, scrubbers, and vacuums. A key responsibility includes maintaining secured access to designated medication storage areas and reporting any discovered unsecured medications. The role also involves training new hires and adhering to DCH Standards, including performance, patient and employee satisfaction, and financial standards. Compliance with the Employee Handbook and DCH Behavioral Standards is mandatory, focusing on positive relationships and ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, and employees by identifying and reducing risks and hazards. The position requires the use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software, and the intranet, and adherence to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
