Hourly Pay Rate: $13.37 Includes every other weekend/holiday Job Overview: The EVS Mobile Utility Technician is responsible for the transport, deep cleaning, and disinfection of non-clinical surfaces, including IV poles and Workstations on Wheels (WOWs). This role performs cleaning only after all medical devices, electronics, batteries, and cords have been removed by the applicable hospital department. The Technician ensures equipment is clean and staged for use to support clinical readiness across the organization.

Requirements

  • Successful applicants for this position must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
  • Experience in the janitorial industry a plus
  • Medical cleaning a plus
  • Post-Offer Medical, Background Screening and Drug Test required
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage equipment workflow including pickup, transport, cleaning, and disinfection of designated non-clinical equipment
  • Perform deep cleaning and disinfection of IV poles, Workstations on Wheels (WOWs), and other non-clinical surfaces using hospital-grade disinfectants and approved SOPs
  • Verify that all medical equipment, electronics, and powered modules have been removed by the applicable hospital department prior to beginning the cleaning process; if equipment remains, tag the unit and escalate to management for proper handling
  • Record and report daily metrics: number of pieces cleaned and items needing further attention
  • Ensure inbound units needing cleaning are placed in the proper staging areas and tagged with required processing information
  • Perform other tasks or projects as requested by management
  • Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
  • Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas.
  • Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
  • Dusts furniture and equipment.
  • Polishes metalwork.
  • Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
  • Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empties wastebaskets.
  • Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Replenishes bathroom supplies.
  • Transports small equipment or tools between departments.
  • Set up tables and chairs in auditorium or hall.
