About The Position

Environmental Services Workers perform janitorial and cleaning duties, as well as handle party setup and breakdowns at the Milwaukee County Zoo. This is a seasonal position with an hourly pay rate of $14.50. Both 1st and 2nd shifts are available, and candidates must be available for weekend work.

Requirements

• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Possession of a valid Driver’s License, able to be maintained throughout employment.
• Must be at least 16 years or older.
• Basic knowledge of all related computer and software applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets.
• Able to lift, carry up to 50 lbs.
• Able to push, and pull up to 100 lbs.
• Must establish residency in the state of Wisconsin within six months of start date and maintain such residency during incumbency.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of janitorial or cleaning duties in assigned areas.
• Requisition and issue cleaning supplies and materials.
• Check and report the need for repairs.
• Mop, scrub, wax, or polish floors.
• Wash walls, windows, woodwork, and equipment.
• Collect and dispose of all types of rubbish and trash.
• Set up and break down tables, chairs, risers, stages, and podiums for events.
• Follow blueprints or instructions from event coordinators.
• Interact with staff or visitors to ensure successful events.
• Assist other departments with tasks as needed.
• Provide information and directions to Zoo visitors.
• Offer support to staff and guests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
