About The Position

Provides training, coaching, and counseling to all housekeeping employees in order to assist in reaching profitability, guest satisfaction, workforce strength and compliance goals. Provides encouragement, sets high expectations, and sets positive examples necessary to ensure a fun, exciting and professional working environment for our staff and a pleasant and entertaining experience for our guests. Facilitates the hiring process, including interviewing, training, and evaluating job performance. Provides ongoing training and development to all EVS positions. Manages administrative duties, including payroll, operating expenses, and weekly forecasting reports. Completes weekly employee schedules to ensure coverage of public areas. Completes monthly inventory and supply orders. Oversees organization of supply storage areas, ensures proper chemical dispensing stations are labeled according to HAZCOM standards, and are maintained to established high standards. Communicates facility information on events and compliance guidelines by conducting pre-shift meetings daily. Issues daily assignment checklists. Coordinates all special cleaning projects with supervisors and completes and posts monthly and weekly facility project schedules for the department (e.g., window cleaning, hard floor, carpet cleaning, restaurants, and back-of-house areas). Conducts weekly equipment inspections and reports defects to the engineering team. Develops safety awareness programs with Human Resources and supports them. Supports and administers operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives. Responsible for supporting compliance with departmental budgets. Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise. Assists with oversight of the day-to-day cleaning of the Casino property. Inspects completed work to ensure it meets established standards. Responsible for ensuring OSHA standards are followed. Responsible for reporting property damage or any problems to the manager in a timely manner. Assists in providing distribution of work assignments. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory compliance within the area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management. Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Associate’s/Technical Degree; 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to perform the physical job duties of all EVS team members in times of emergencies.
  • Must be able to operate all standard EVS equipment, including, but not limited to vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors, computer, copy machine, mop, broom, and hand-held radio operation.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing concerns; and resolving problems.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must qualify for a license with the Pennsylvania State Racing Commission and meet any credentialing requirements of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
