About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring an EVS Ambulatory Manager to join our Environmental Services leadership team. This position manages the Environmental Services Department within the Dearborn Campus or the Ambulatory Sites to ensure prompt, efficient, courteous, and cost-effective completion of departmental goals. Maintains expected quality standards of cleanliness, infection prevention practices, waste handling compliance, and customer satisfaction. Inspects and monitors departmental performance for continuous quality improvement and regulatory compliance. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical expertise with all aspects of floor care, specialized surfaces, and Infection Control prevention
  • Knowledge of applicable waste handling within federal and state regulations
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office- Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • 3 years of healthcare EVS leadership experience

  • CHESP certification (Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional)
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Expertise in all functions of Environmental Services

Responsibilities

  • Design/implement efficient services, offer revenue enhancements, monitor expenses, benchmark, encourage service excellence and provide effective communications.
  • Oversee the Dearborn operations of the department.
  • Tours buildings noting deficiencies, performing quality assurance audits and taking the necessary measures to reduce variability and increase scores using the HCAHPS metrics for customer satisfaction.
  • Develop, promote and maintain professional relationships to ensure an environment conducive to customer service and high quality patient care.
  • Oversee staff development, evaluate job performance, offer constructive feedback, discipline as necessary, and provide on-going coaching to ensure activities are performed within department and St. Elizabeth policy.
  • Maintains and monitors established department policies and procedures concerning all aspects of the waste streamline including hazardous, infectious, recyclable, and confidential waste handling in the most cost effective manner and in accordance with all regulatory agencies.
  • Follows through on all complaints, determining corrective action necessary and following through to ensure compliance.
  • Provides Environmental Services supervisors with technical support and assistance with hiring, training, counseling, and evaluating employees.
  • Ensures department training and in-servicing to guarantee regulatory and safety compliance.
