About The Position

This role requires strong communication skills and a demonstrated command of the English language are essential, along with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. It also requires the ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedure manuals, short correspondence, and memos, while maintaining a high level of satisfaction for patients, visitors, employees, and external customers. The ideal candidate also shows initiative, takes on additional duties as needed, works well in a fast-paced environment, and can multitask effectively. In addition, this person serves as a mentor to peers by teaching basic skills and techniques. We are hiring per-diem team members for our environmental services department. The EVS Aide cleans and services building areas, removes non-medical waste and medical waste according to established procedures. Answer the call, be part of an award-winning pediatric hospital.

Requirements

• Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated command of the English language.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedure manuals, short correspondence, and memos.
• Maintain a high level of satisfaction for patients, visitors, employees, and external customers.
• Shows initiative.
• Takes on additional duties as needed.
• Works well in a fast-paced environment.
• Can multitask effectively.
• Previous customer service experience.
• High School Diploma, GED or two additional years of experience in lieu of education.
• Able to operate heavy floor machines.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the safe and effective performance of the job.
• Attention to detail, vigilance, poise, and composure in stressful situations.

Nice To Haves

• Six (6) months of housekeeping with floor care experience.
