The Executive Vice President of Finance is responsible for the strategic oversight, integrity, and management of all financial operations of the organization. The EVP of Finance ensures financial transparency, regulatory compliance, and long-term institutional sustainability. Serving as the primary financial advisor to the President, CEO and Board of Directors, the EVP of Finance oversees budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audit and tax compliance, investment oversight, internal controls, and accounting operations. The EVP of Finance supervises the National Controller and Finance Managers and serves as liaison to the Finance Committee and external financial partners. SCOPE OF ROLE Finance Leadership & Strategy Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis. Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's mission and goals. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial and regulatory requirements. Manage the finance and accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Lead the annual audit process and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Collaborate with the CEO, President and Board of Directors on strategic financial planning and decision-making. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external auditors, grantors, and funding sources. Provide timely and accurate financial analysis to inform strategic initiatives and operational improvements. Maintain and enhance internal control policies and procedures to safeguard financial assets. Strategic Planning & Organizational Capacity Building Partner with executive leadership to support organizational growth, program expansion, and operational scaling. Identify opportunities for efficiency, innovation, and improved service delivery through financial insights. Lead special projects that enhance financial transparency, operational effectiveness, and impact. Systems, Infrastructure & Transformation Lead modernization of financial systems (e.g., Financial Edge), including implementation, integration with HRIS and grants systems, and change management. Design and optimize workflows across procure-to-pay, grant reporting, and financial close processes. Strengthen financial infrastructure, internal controls, and policy frameworks in a distributed, multi-site environment. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Endowment Oversee financial reporting, compliance, and administration of the ASAS Endowment. Coordinate with investment advisors, auditors, and the Endowment Board. Present Endowment performance and financial matters at Board meetings. Board & Committee Engagement Participate and present at Finance Committee, Audit Committee, and Board meetings Prepare and present budgets, forecasts, financial results and insights Respond to questions and provide follow-up analysis as needed.
