Responsible for the safety and protection of evidence and property coming to Sheriff for presentation of court cases. Receives, records, maintains and disposes of evidence in Sheriff's control; Provide receipts to persons making delivery of evidence and determine proper processing; Ensures delivery of evidence to persons or agencies qualified to perform processing; Notifies officer submitting evidence of processing or examination of evidence in a timely manner; Keeps and maintains comprehensive records of evidence submitted including removal, destruction, chain of custody and other pertinent records according to applicable statutes; Responsible for care and custody of evidence; Prepare court orders and performs related clerical duties; Safely handle bio-hazard material, firearms, and large amounts of money; Performs related duties as required.
