About The Position

The Event Specialist plans, coordinates, and executes corporate, employee, and community events and activities designed to positively influence the perceptions, actions, and opinions of external and internal audiences, directly or indirectly impacting the company image and achievement of business objectives.

Requirements

  • A four-year Bachelors degree in business, communications, public relations or other job-related field from an accredited college or university
  • Plus three (3) years relevant experience in managing/coordinating community, non-profit and/or work-related events, programs and activities in support of overall company image.
  • In lieu of bachelors degree, a combination of college coursework and/or experience in managing/coordinating community, non-profit and/or work-related events equaling seven (7) years.
  • Requires frequent evening and weekend work as well as the potential for statewide overnight travel.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal clients to establish goals and desired outcomes for corporate, employee and community events to ensure successful planning, execution, quality/brand standards and post-event evaluation.
  • Plan and execute corporate and community event activities, assesses resource requirements, and procures and manages material resources and logistics.
  • Coordinate the activities of vendors and outside agencies in the planning and executions of events and activities.
  • Manage assigned budgets and allocations for events and activities.
  • Coordinate event preparation stages through setting up and tearing down displays and equipment, creating banners, advertisements and educational displays, and company materials distributed to the public and employees at events as needed.
  • Contribute, as part of internal or external communications team, to achieving specific goals and objectives, modeling corporate cultural standards of behavior and maintaining appropriate levels of confidentiality relating to work.
  • Procure giveaways and other company materials as needed.
