Events Marketing Manager

About The Position

The Marketing team at RTA is looking for an Event Marketing Manager. This individual contributor will own the strategy, planning, execution, and performance of RTA's event and webinar programs. This person will help RTA grow through a well-executed event strategy that strengthens our brand presence, creates memorable experiences, elevates our thought leadership, and generates measurable business results. The right team member understands that planning and execution both matter. A beautiful event that does not produce results is not enough, and a great strategy that falls apart onsite is not enough either. You'll own the full event lifecycle - choosing the right opportunities, building the plan and budget, coordinating all the moving pieces, creating an exceptional attendee experience, capturing and handing off leads, and measuring what happened afterward.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in event marketing, event management, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated success owning trade shows and experiential events from planning through onsite execution and post-event follow-up.
  • Demonstrated experience owning webinars end-to-end.
  • Experience planning and hosting a larger-scale customer, industry, or company event or conference.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, vendors, budgets, timelines, and events at once.
  • Hands-on experience with Zoom, HubSpot, and Cvent.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort connecting event performance to pipeline, conversion, revenue, return on spend, and ROI.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, including confidence engaging prospects, customers, partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel approximately 40%, including occasional nights and weekends.
  • No degree requirement; relevant experience and demonstrated capability matter most.

Nice To Haves

  • Someone who feels at home as a member of a healthy team and is comfortable with accountability, candid collaboration, and constructive debate.
  • Someone who fully embraces team health and the principles behind eliminating the '5 Dysfunctions of a Team' (Patrick Lencioni).
  • Someone who will passionately care about our clients and the jobs they do.
  • Someone who confidently owns the Event Marketing Manager role while actively seeking collaboration and buy-in from others.
  • Someone who can pivot quickly when needed and maintain a positive attitude when the plan inevitably changes.
  • Someone who is willing to lift boxes, help with setup, clean floors, hold doors, or do whatever it takes to create a great experience.
  • Someone who thinks of themselves less, while not thinking less of themselves.
  • Someone who understands the power and impact of their words and actions.
  • Someone who constantly looks for more: more to learn, more to do, and more opportunity.
  • Someone who loves to read, learn, grow, and stretch themselves. Extra points if you've read Obviously Awesome, They Ask, You Answer, or anything from Seth Godin or Patrick Lencioni.
  • Someone who embraces AI as a tool to work smarter and move faster - using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar technology to improve research, planning, project management, content development, reporting, analysis, and everyday workflows while bringing the human judgment and creativity that make an experience memorable.
  • Someone who knows how to make a splash at trade shows and experiential events - and can show us examples of exceptional events they've personally managed and the results they produced.
  • Someone who thrives in the meet-and-greet. Networking is almost a pastime.
  • Someone who gets creative about maximizing an event budget and is meticulous about tracking expenditures.
  • Someone who understands that events are not just about attendance - they are expected to contribute to pipeline, conversion, revenue, and ROI.
  • Someone who advocates for thought leadership and knows how to get the right people on stage.
  • Fleet or public-sector experience is not required. What matters is that you know how to create exceptional experiences, manage the details, and show us the results.

  • Assess and recommend solutions to gaps in how our brand or products are presented at events.

  • Source and prep RTA speakers and subject matter experts for webinars and event speaking opportunities.
  • Set up and manage Zoom webinar experiences and coordinate practice runs with speakers.
  • Partner with Demand Generation to hit webinar registration goals.
  • Host and execute webinars, then hand leads to the SDR team for timely follow-up.
  • Report monthly and quarterly on event and webinar performance, including leads generated, pipeline created and influenced, conversion rates, closed-won ARR, pipeline return on spend, and ROI.
