Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology invites applications for the position of Events Manager within the Union & Student Activities Office. This position plays a vital role in enhancing the student experience outside the classroom by supporting the successful planning, coordination, and execution of a wide range of campus and community events. The Events Manager serves as the primary coordinator for reservations and event operations within the Student Union and Campus Chapel, managing both internal and external event requests and serving as the lead administrator of the Institute’s event management system. Working closely with campus partners, clients, and service providers, this position coordinates event logistics, room setups, audiovisual services, catering, and other special event requirements to ensure exceptional service and a seamless event experience. The Events Manager is responsible for maintaining event-related inventories and organizing multiple storage areas within the Student Union. The role assists the Director with the recruitment, training, scheduling, and supervision of student employees, providing leadership and on-site oversight during event setups and operations. Additionally, the Events Manager works directly with external clients to coordinate site visits and manage contracts, insurance documentation, and other risk management requirements associated with facility use. This position also supports the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Student Union and Campus Chapel by identifying facility needs, submitting and monitoring work orders, coordinating equipment repairs, and facilitating routine maintenance and custodial activities. Administrative responsibilities include processing invoices, check requests, and purchasing card reconciliations; preparing and managing external contracts; and maintaining accurate and current information on internal and external websites related to the Student Union and Chapel. The Events Manager performs other duties as assigned in support of departmental goals and the Institute’s mission, contributing to a welcoming, engaging, and well-managed campus environment.
