Events Manager - NYC
About The Position
Bain Capital Ventures (BCV) is seeking an Events Manager to join their marketing team in New York. BCV executes over 100 events annually, ranging from intimate dinners to large-scale gatherings. This role will be instrumental in planning and executing these events, focusing on creating engaging experiences for founders and communities central to BCV's success. The Events Manager will collaborate closely with the events team, design, communications, brand, investors, and the broader Bain Capital marketing team. The role also involves managing budgets, overseeing community-building efforts, and maintaining attendee engagement post-event.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of relevant work curating experiences, events, and communities of founders.
- Collaborative: Effective and receptive to input from across the firm.
- Energetic: Upbeat, positive, and hard-working.
- Detail-oriented: Proficient with spreadsheets and GANTT charts.
- Outgoing: Enjoys making people feel welcome and at home.
- Curious: Interested in learning about the latest in tech.
- Unflappable: Able to handle last-minute issues calmly and effectively.
- Familiarity with tech industry events and communities.

- Experience with workback plans, budgets, and Notion trackers.
Responsibilities
- Plan and flawlessly execute approximately 2-3 small dinners per week, and 4-5 large events per year.
- Develop creative and forward-thinking ways to engage early-stage founders on behalf of BCV.
- Curate special experiences for communities that are central to BCV’s success.
- Maintain the team’s budget, as events are the major cost center within the marketing organization.
- Work cross-functionally with BCV’s investing team and The Hive (platform team), as well as broader Bain Capital’s Boston-based events and marketing team on targeted events.
- Oversee community-building efforts, managing lists, and other ways to keep event attendees connected and engaged after the in-person experience ends.
