About The Position

The Jacksonville Jaguars are committed to developing talent and interest in professional sports. An assistantship at the Jaguars will provide you the chance to explore your career interests, acquire marketable job skills while “learning the ropes” of the industry, establish professional contacts, and gain practical “hands on” experience while working at the highest level of professional sports. Jaguars assistantships offer meaningful educational work experiences designed to meet your academic and career goals. Management and staff will teach and encourage, but it’s up to you to bring an enthusiasm to learn. Through this program, you will identify learning goals and work with the Jaguars management to achieve those goals. The Events & Entertainment Groups Assistant is responsible for schedule and appearance coordination, inventory management, game day and event assistance, and other operational logistics associated with Jaguars events and entertainment groups, THE ROAR, and the D-Line. This includes supporting the planning and execution of events (when applicable) and game day entertainment elements that will elevate the Jaguars brand by creating a lasting impact for our fans through meaningful and memorable experiences.

  • Ability to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Support off-site events and ROAR appearances, with the ability to travel independently to assigned locations.
  • Prolific knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Office).
  • Pursuing a degree in business, marketing, communications, sports management, or associated field (college junior or senior).
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Proficiency in various social media platforms.
  • Proficiency in graphic design skills.

  • Combination of office work and practical work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and communicate the scheduling of appearances with internal and external clients for all entertainment groups, and create comprehensive recaps with applicable metrics.
  • Coordinate invoicing and payment tracking.
  • Assist with the operational elements, along with the set up and break down, of the entertainment groups auditions, events, and appearances.
  • Assist with the planning and registration process associated with youth events.
  • Assist with creating and communicating game day schedules for all entertainment groups.
  • Plan and execute events of all sizes and natures (i.e., Training Camp Practices, Luncheons, Major Press Conferences, Youth Football events, etc.).
  • Communicate effectively across many internal departments, stadium partners, sponsors, and vendors.
  • Problem solve and be action-oriented when things don’t go according to plan.
  • Schedule game day entertainment, including national anthem performers, flyovers, color guards, pre-game, and halftime shows, special guests/ honorees, sponsor contests, on-field presentations and promotions, and other game day entertainment needs.
  • Coordinate game day logistics. This includes entertainment transportation, tickets, parking, credentials, meals, equipment storage, staging areas, pre-game rehearsal schedule, and more.
  • Gather and organize all details needed to plan for the Fan Entertainment Zone (FEZ), the Jaguars pre-game tailgate destination in the south end zone (i.e., credentials, equipment, power needs, vehicle movements, giveaways, etc.).
  • Evaluate fan feedback and metrics to adjust our game entertainment strategy to provide our fans the best possible experience at EverBank Stadium.
  • Understand the impacts of stadium construction as it pertains to the game day experience and marquee events occurring at EverBank Stadium.
  • Coordinate social content strategy and calendar, and coordinate logistics related to content creation, capture, and editing.
  • Schedule and post content for entertainment groups in coordination with partner obligations and other team initiatives, and create comprehensive recaps of social content with applicable metrics.
  • Maintain the database of uniforms and equipment inventory for all entertainment groups.
  • Assist with deliveries and other events requiring a Jaguars representative and/or driver as needed.
  • Assist with grassroots event activations and appearances involving The Prowler as needed.
  • Review and reply to fan mail.
