About The Position

One of the region’s largest orthopedic and sports medicine providers, Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute’s world-class team of orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians specialize in conditions and injuries of the spine, hand, upper extremities, foot, ankle and lower extremities, as well as joint replacement, concussions, interventional pain management, bone health and orthopedic trauma. We are seeking a highly organized and enthusiastic Per Diem Events Coordinator to support the planning, coordination, and execution of special events and community engagement activities for Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, enjoy working with a variety of stakeholders, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role provides flexible support for events, programs, and outreach initiatives that promote the institute's mission and enhance the experience of patients, team members, and the community.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a marketing, management, communications, data analysis or related field.
  • Two (2) years of directly related work experience may substitute for the Associate degree (in addition to the requirements listed in the Experience section).
  • Two (2) years of organizational management experience required, including involvement in special events.
  • Familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint applications.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor degree in a related field may substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers information, materials and resources needed to implement key signature events, other events, and education activities.
  • Develops and monitors action plans and timelines for implementation, volunteer recruitment and management, sponsor solicitation, event reporting, media relations, and using this information to make discretionary decisions about event planning.
  • Implements specific event strategies directed toward targeted donors, potential donors, and other key constituencies.
  • Collaborates with other events team members and other adjacent team members to coordinate components of large and small events.
  • Demonstrates strong project management skills while timely managing multiple priorities.
  • Coordinates other projects including mailings, distribution, scheduling, filing, copying, and ordering supplies and phone calls as needed.
  • Requires flexibility to provide special event direction on weekends and holidays.
  • Coordinates and organizes assigned responsibilities to confidential data.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
