About The Position

Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course, located in Chicago, IL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for an Events Coordinator! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (AA) and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
  • Knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and POS.
  • Knowledge of Delphi.
  • Driver’s License may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory and management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Contacts customers face-to-face, by telephone and/or email, to confirm, coordinate, and update details for scheduled events and or parties.
  • Details each group’s event needs which may include but is not limited to: menu planning, meal time, and room set.
  • Conducts facility tours and sight visits for groups.
  • Tracks guarantees and deadlines.
  • Coordinates with Marketing & Sales department as well as Food and Beverage department to ensure specified arrangements are carried out.
  • Completes projects as directed in relation to the area of responsibility.
  • Assists in the coordination of department members that may include, but is not limited to: Servers, Hosts, Set-up staff.
  • Assists in monitoring business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
  • Assists manager in communicating any changes or new policies and procedures to the staff.
  • Ensures accurate and timely invoicing for all services rendered, to include recording events on the POS.
