About The Position

Performs logistical and administrative support for trainings, meetings, and other special events under the guidance and supervision of the Associate Director of Conference Services and Community Engagement. This position supports both Tacoma and Gig Harbor Campuses, and is housed at the Tacoma Campus. This position is temporary, part-time, and requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in hospitality, events, or related field preferred.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, such as tables and chairs, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow multiple instructions.
  • Effective communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and team members both orally and in writing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Excellent customer service skills; including building and maintaining internal/external relationships
  • Ability to work effectively with others to achieve common goals.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Move and arrange furniture, such as tables and chairs, according to event specifications.
  • Setup and adjust audio-visual equipment including projectors, screens, microphones, and sound systems.
  • Assist with the setup of registration desks, signage, and other event-related areas.
  • Assist with other event duties such as catering, ushering, and decorating.
  • Use exceptional customer service skills in all interactions.
  • Interact with event organizers and attendees to address their needs and ensure smooth event execution.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as facilities, catering, and IT to ensure a cohesive event experience.
  • Inventory, tracking, auditing of spaces, furnishes and equipment
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
