About The Position

The City of Brentwood is seeking a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication and time management skills to join its team as a part-time Event Venue Representative at Ravenswood Mansion. This role involves working with venue clients, caterers, vendors, and guests on event days to ensure exceptional service from beginning to end. The representative will be responsible for enforcing the policies and procedures set forth by the City and Event Venue Director in a professional manner. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable event experience, make industry connections, and serve the community.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Some event experience is preferred.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job will be considered.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines, which includes a computer, printer, facsimile machine, copy machine, calculator, telephone, etc.
  • Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials.
  • Must be able to exert up to twenty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to ten pounds of force frequently.
  • Requires the ability to compare and or judge the readily observable functional, technical, structural, or compositional characteristics (whether similar to or divergent from obvious standards) of data, people, or things.
  • Requires the ability of speaking and/or signaling people to convey or exchange administrative information.
  • Includes giving assignments and/or directions to co-workers or assistants.
  • Requires the ability to read a variety of informational documentation, directions, instructions, and methods and procedures related to the job.
  • Requires the ability to write reports with proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar, using all parts of speech.

  • Requires the ability to handle a variety of items, office equipment, control knobs, switches, etc.
  • Must have the ability to use one hand for twisting or turning motion while coordinating other hand with different activities.
  • Must have minimal levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.
  • May require the ability to differentiate colors and shades of color.
  • Requires the ability to deal with people (i.e. staff, supervisors, general public, and officials) beyond giving and receiving instructions such as in interpreting departmental policies and procedures.
  • Must be adaptable to performing under moderate stress when confronted with an emergency related to the job.
  • Requires the ability to talk and/or hear: (talking - expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words). (Hearing - perceiving nature of sounds by ear).

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the day-of venue representative for clients and vendors on event days, typically from 3:30 PM to 11:00 PM on weekends, Friday through Sunday.
  • Understands venue policies regarding hosting events at historic homes.
  • Properly conveys rules, expectations, and event guidelines to clients and vendors.
  • Helps ensure events run smoothly and in accordance with venue policies.
