About The Position

The Event Technician / Engineer is a Full-Time Hourly position responsible for providing maintenance support for all OKC Fair Park facilities and offering first-line technical support for all public events. This role involves performing routine maintenance, constructing and repairing computer cabling, assisting management with tasks and projects, and operating vehicles and machinery as needed. The position also requires assisting in other departments and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Ability to perform work at significant heights while on ladders and mechanical lifts.
• Obtain forklift license through on-site training.
• Follow written and oral instructions.
• Basic knowledge of 8-ohm and 70-volt sound systems and ability to set up both types.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Basic knowledge of simple mechanical systems and ability to conduct minor repairs with hand tools.
• Troubleshoot electrical, sprinkler and plumbing systems.
• Basic knowledge of 120/208V electrical systems.
• Configure an advanced matrix paging system.
• Troubleshoot and configure devices for WIFI access.
• Troubleshoot complex audio systems (70-volt and 8-ohm).
• Configure and troubleshoot Ethernet computer networks.
• Troubleshoot wet and dry sprinkler systems.
• Troubleshoot fire alarm systems.
• Strive to exceed customer expectations.
• Utilize task prioritization and effective time management skills to meet frequent and competing deadlines in a high-volume, high-stress environment.
• Perform detailed work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment handling multiple tasks with flexibility in a calm, professional manner.

• Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Speak, read and write in English.

• Experience working live events is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support for all OKC Fair Park facilities.
• Provide first line of technical support for all public events.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as filter changes, door/lock repair, installation of network cabling and VOIP phone systems.
• Properly construct, install and repair computer cabling.
• Assist the Facilities Senior Manager and on-duty Event Managers with any tasks, responsibilities, or special projects as directed.
• File periodic reports as required.
• Operate vehicles and machinery as required to perform assigned tasks.
• Assist in other departments as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
