About The Position

A Technician is responsible for the set up and operation of basic / small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology. The role ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment. The technician strives to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers, maintaining a positive relationship with all clients through effective communication. They meet with guests on site to ensure their needs are met and the equipment setup is working properly, and monitor events, checking in on customers throughout the day. The technician understands the technical aspects of the job and demonstrates basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues, handling equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner. They understand company processes, follow procedures, and complete systems entry and paperwork accurately. They use equipment sheets to determine the equipment scheduled for set up and for strike, and interact with other staff and outside vendors for equipment. The role also involves increasing revenue through floor up-selling techniques, working with clients to finalize invoices, and completing order entries in Navigator, as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • External applicants must meet/validate and achieve/complete all training and certifications required for this position, within 60 days of start date.
  • Internal applicants must meet/complete all training and certification requirements as determined by Encore’s Global Learning Training Program in their current position, and for the position they are applying to.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for team members that may operate Company vehicles.
  • Additional DOT requirements may need to be met if applicable.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree is preferred.
  • 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
  • 1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment is preferred.
