About The Position

Performs a variety of technical and manual work in support of events at the Agricultural Center, including event setup and breakdown, on-site event assistance, facility upkeep, and customer service. Duties include preparing and maintaining event spaces, assisting with arena and equipment setup, operating a forklift, tractor, and/or similar equipment when needed, monitoring facilities during events, and providing basic administrative support such as answering phones, returning calls, giving tours, and assisting with simple office paperwork. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Agricultural Center Coordinator.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and 1-3 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • General knowledge of event setup and facility maintenance procedures.
  • Skill in safe lifting, moving, and arranging of tables, chairs, and heavy equipment.
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain a forklift, tractor, and/or similar equipment.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve minor issues promptly.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification required or willingness to be certified for forklift, tractor, and/or similar equipment operation.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and takes down tables, chairs, panels, gates, and other event-related equipment.
  • Assists with arena preparation and removal of equipment as needed.
  • Operates a forklift, tractor and/or similar equipment for event setup, breakdown, or facility maintenance (certification required or willingness to be certified).
  • Provides on-site support during events, monitoring for cleanliness, safety, and supply needs.
  • Refills restrooms and event area supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soap as needed during events.
  • Reports maintenance issues, safety concerns, or supply shortages promptly.
  • Assists with general upkeep and small facility tasks between events.
  • Greets visitors, answers questions, and provides tours of the facility.
  • Answers incoming phone calls, takes messages, returns calls, and provides accurate event information.
  • Assists with basic paperwork, filing, and other simple office duties as assigned.
