About The Position

The Student Union Building (SUB) is a central part of campus life, offering a fun, fast-paced, and high-energy work environment where students can connect, collaborate, and create memorable experiences. The SUB provides leadership opportunities, teamwork, and hands-on professional development. This position is responsible for the setup and tear-down of various event elements, including furniture, stages, and audio-visual equipment within the Student Union Building. The role requires physical capability, strong communication skills, and flexibility in working hours. This is an exciting opportunity to impact campus events.

Requirements

Ability to lift, push, pull, and manipulate 30lbs.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends.

Nice To Haves

Basic computer skills.
Ability to have a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn audio-visual equipment and troubleshooting.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and manipulate heavy objects of at least 30lbs.
Must be able to work a minimum of 20hrs per week, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Adherence to Student Union Employee Handbook guidelines.
Set up and tear-down of audio-visual equipment.
Set up and tear-down of chairs, tables, stages, podiums, etc.
Works with the Building Manager and follows their directions regarding pace, prioritization, and aesthetics.
Perform minor audio-visual repairs/troubleshooting.
Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment; ensuring all equipment is returned to the appropriate storage area when not in use.
Ensure that all equipment is always in fully operational condition and report any problems to the supervisor.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
