About The Position
Allied Universal® Event Services is hiring Event Security staff to work at sports stadiums, concerts, festivals, convention centers, and other event venues. The role supports event preparation and operations by checking bags, managing access, enforcing venue policies and procedures, and helping protect guests, staff, and venue assets while providing superior customer service. The position offers flexible, part-time scheduling under 30 hours per week. The listed pay rate is $19.75 per hour, and a California Guard Card is required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a California Guard Card.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug and alcohol test; additional screening may be required for employees driving a customer- or company-owned vehicle.
- Able to use good independent judgment and discretion.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Licensing requirements may apply before employment, depending on state and local laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of event-day preparation and execution.
- Manage venue entry by collecting or scanning tickets, verifying wristbands and badges, and directing incoming and outgoing traffic.
- Screen guests at entry using bag searches, hand wands or metal detectors, and ID verification.
- Watch vital checkpoints for security breaches and help protect guests, staff, and venue ownership assets.
- Respond quickly to potential crowd-control issues and escort unruly guests when ejections are warranted.
- Understand and follow the policies, procedures, and regulations of different venues, facilities, and events.
- Provide a positive experience for guests at facility entrances, aisles, concourses, or other assigned locations.
- Offer guests helpful directions and suggestions to enhance their entertainment experience.
