About The Position

Hammer Head Security is seeking an experienced and organized Event Security Manager to lead security operations for assigned events and venues. This position is responsible for coordinating event security personnel, supporting pre-event planning, maintaining appropriate staffing and coverage, communicating with clients and event partners, and ensuring security operations are conducted professionally and according to established procedures. The ideal candidate is an effective leader who can manage teams, coordinate multiple responsibilities, communicate with a variety of stakeholders, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced event environment.

Requirements

  • Valid California BSIS Guard Card required.
  • Previous event security, security management, or security leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience leading security personnel in event, venue, entertainment, sports, hospitality, or similar environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-management skills.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee security operations before, during, and after assigned events.
  • Assist with event security plans, post orders, staffing plans, and operational procedures.
  • Conduct pre-event meetings, security briefings, and post-event debriefs.
  • Coordinate security coverage for entrances, exits, credential checkpoints, parking areas, restricted areas, VIP areas, backstage areas, and other designated locations.
  • Conduct regular site and staff checks throughout events.
  • Monitor guest movement, access points, pedestrian flow, and general event conditions.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, medical situations, access concerns, and other operational matters.
  • Support de-escalation efforts when situations require management assistance.
  • Coordinate with venue representatives, client contacts, Guest Services, emergency personnel, law enforcement, talent or sports team security, and other event partners when appropriate.
  • Work with Guest Services and event management to promote a professional and positive guest experience.
  • Ensure security personnel remain assigned to their designated posts until properly relieved or released.
  • Complete or review required post-event documentation and reports.
  • Oversee approximately 168 hours of scheduled CCTV monitoring coverage before, during, and after assigned events.
  • Ensure Camera Monitoring Officers are properly assigned, briefed, and prepared for their shifts.
  • Maintain appropriate monitoring coverage during breaks, lunches, shift changes, and staffing adjustments.
  • Conduct periodic checks to ensure CCTV personnel are following established procedures and post orders.
  • Address attendance, staffing, performance, and coverage concerns as they arise.
  • Coordinate with Event Leads, Supervisors, Dispatch, and Operations Management regarding monitoring operations and security concerns.
  • Maintain continuity and effective coordination of CCTV operations throughout assigned events.
  • Provide direction and support to Security Officers, Event Leads, and Event Supervisors.
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, professionalism, performance, and post coverage.
  • Coordinate breaks and relief coverage while maintaining required staffing levels.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback.
  • Assist with employee performance matters and documentation in coordination with management and Human Resources.
  • Support security and safety training for event personnel.
  • Promote professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and quality customer service.
  • Provide leadership during busy or rapidly changing event conditions.
  • Review event staffing requirements and identify potential coverage concerns.
  • Coordinate staffing and deployment plans with Scheduling and Operations Management.
  • Monitor event staffing levels and hours worked.
  • Confirm personnel are properly scheduled and assigned according to event requirements.
  • Communicate staffing changes, call-offs, attendance concerns, and coverage issues promptly.
  • Support recruiting efforts to maintain a qualified pool of event security personnel.
  • Participate in recruiting activities such as job fairs, networking events, and outreach to schools and community organizations as needed.
  • During periods of reduced event activity, assist with administrative, recruiting, training, operational, or other business-related assignments as directed by the Operations Manager.
  • Coordinate event credentialing and access procedures.
  • Support access procedures for employees, vendors, guests, VIPs, contractors, talent, and other authorized personnel.
  • Maintain accurate credential and access records.
  • Coordinate with event personnel regarding restricted-access areas.
  • Address credentialing or access concerns according to established event procedures.
  • Review Daily Activity Reports, incident reports, shift reports, credential records, and other required documentation.
  • Ensure reports are complete, accurate, and submitted within required timeframes.
  • Ensure significant incidents and operational concerns are communicated to appropriate management personnel.
  • Assist with staffing records, training documentation, performance documentation, and other administrative records.
  • Review event documentation following each assignment and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Serve as an operational point of contact for designated clients and event representatives.
  • Participate in client meetings and event planning meetings as required.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with clients, venue personnel, Guest Services, law enforcement, emergency personnel, talent or sports team security, and other event partners.
  • Communicate staffing, operational, and security concerns to clients and management in a timely and professional manner.
  • Represent Hammer Head Security professionally at all times.
  • Support a high standard of customer service throughout each event.
  • Ensure assigned personnel follow company policies, event procedures, and site-specific post orders.
  • Verify that assigned security personnel maintain required licenses and qualifications.
  • Reinforce established Observe & Report procedures and company standards.
  • Ensure proper use of radios, smartphones, scheduling systems, reporting platforms, and other operational tools.
  • Report significant safety, staffing, equipment, or operational concerns to management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
