About The Position

About B&M Catering Co. At B&M Catering Co., we’ve built our reputation on delivering exceptional food, friendly service, and memorable experiences across Rhode Island, Southeastern Massachusetts, and Eastern Connecticut since 1984. From classic New England clambakes and backyard barbecades to elegant weddings, corporate galas, and school meal partnerships, we take pride in our community, our team, and our commitment to bringing people together over great food. When you join B&M Catering, you aren't just an employee—you become an owner with a direct stake in our shared growth and long-term success. Position Overview We are seeking a high-energy, proactive, and results-driven Event Sales Coordinator to join our team in Pawtucket. In this role, you will play a critical part in executing B&M Catering’s strategic growth plan—driving business development through outbound proactive sales tactics (including structured daily power hours, field marketing/food drops, and networking) to expand B2B catering accounts and secure higher-value event sales (weddings, corporate galas, private parties, preferred venue partnerships).

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in business development, event sales, catering coordination, hospitality sales, or proactive B2B phone sales in the food & beverage industry.
  • High comfort level with structured outbound phone outreach, executing follow-up cadences, food drop campaigns, and closing quotes/contracts.
  • Outstanding organization skills with high accuracy in generating Event Orders (BEOs), managing event timelines, and tracking client preferences.
  • Experience using catering management/CRM software, POS tools, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
  • Enthusiastic about attending regional networking events and representing B&M’s long-standing community legacy and employee-owned company culture.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends during peak catering seasons or high-profile event setups.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with venue options, corporate hubs, and community event networks in Rhode Island, Southeastern Massachusetts, and Eastern Connecticut is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Drive active business development by executing dedicated daily outbound sales calling blocks (2x daily Power Hours: 10:00 AM–11:00 AM targeting corporate administrative assistants and office managers; 2:00 PM–3:00 PM targeting event planners, school leads, and long-term accounts) to secure weekday B2B orders and Q4/seasonal holiday events.
  • Rapidly follow up on corporate "Boxed Lunch & Cornbread Drops" across RI, MA, and CT to pitch our "First Office Lunch Special" (15% off first catering order over $250) and convert leads into repeat B2B clients.
  • Promptly qualify and convert inbound inquiries via phone, email, and web forms across core event avenues (weddings, corporate galas, clambakes/BBQs, and private parties).
  • Actively represent B&M Catering at local Chamber of Commerce networking events (Northern RI, Greater Providence) and community volunteering activations to build local business relationships and brand goodwill.
  • Present core brand pillars in client interactions (emphasizing our established 1984 heritage and employee-owned culture) and leverage promo campaigns (including Cox Media/Red Sox push follow-ups) to drive client bookings.
  • Detail all aspects of booked events—including custom menus, standard dietary-specific options (gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian add-ons), beverage service, timelines, equipment rentals, and staffing requirements—into accurate Event Orders (BEOs) and invoices.
  • Support and drive sales for off-peak revenue initiatives, including Holiday Micro-Packs (Heat & Serve) and corporate party packages.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Operations and kitchen leadership at 560 York Ave to ensure smooth handoffs between sales proposals and daily culinary production/event execution.
  • Coordinate logistics with preferred venue partners, tent rental companies, florists, and external vendors as needed.
  • Maintain meticulous client records, sales pipelines, call tracking logs, and event schedules within our catering management CRM software.
  • Track post-event reviews, client feedback, and order rebook rates to maximize lifetime account value.
  • Participate in regular sales and operational alignment meetings to review upcoming event volume and strategic targets.
