About The Position

The Event & Race Assistant at the Whitewater Center (Whitewater) is a key member in managing and operating the Whitewater events and races. This role is responsible for planning event logistics, executing event operations and facilitating public programming. The position will also assist with various operational tasks that are essential to successfully executing Whitewater events and races. The Event & Race Assistant is an on-site, part-time, hourly role and reports to the Event & Race Coordinator.

Requirements

  • Able to work well under pressure and make decisions independently.
  • Outgoing, friendly, and confident with exceptional communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during Whitewater events as needed.
  • Available to work 10-20 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Manage the race registration process for all Whitewater Race Series productions.
  • Work with the Event & Race team to update and design course maps
  • Aid with registration, packet pick-up, race start/finish actions, aid stations set up and removal, and awards presentations at races.
  • Assist with operational tasks such as course marking, inventory management and guest communication
  • Facilitating programs such as festivals, races, pond hockey, Adventure Dining, yoga workshops and youth programming.
  • Other duties as assigned.
