About The Position

Event Operations Staff are responsible for the set-up, changeover, and general upkeep of facilities for various events. This includes moving, arranging, assembling, and disassembling items such as animal penning, flooring, chairs, walls, barricades, staging, and tables. The role also involves general cleaning and maintenance of buildings, overseeing personnel, loading/unloading trucks, and transporting trash. Staff must be able to read layouts, measure accurately, train new hires, enforce policies, perform repairs, and promptly report safety concerns. The position requires working extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and involves inspecting completed work, issuing supplies, and maintaining inventory. Knowledge of operating an extractor machine and working at elevated heights is necessary. Collaboration with other Operations Department divisions is expected, along with performing other assigned duties. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Event set-up and changeover, including moving, arranging, assembly, and disassembly of items.
  • Assembly and disassembly of animal penning for equestrian events.
  • General cleaning and upkeep of buildings (buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, window washing, cleaning fixtures, walls, seats, and trash cans).
  • Overseeing and participating in the conversion process for events.
  • Setting up and tearing down flooring, portable chairs, operable walls, barricades, staging, tables, furnishings, and equipment.
  • Overseeing personnel and performing duties to ensure day-to-day facility operations.
  • Loading/unloading delivery trucks.
  • Transporting trash to proper disposal areas.
  • Reading and understanding layouts and accurately measuring floors.
  • Assisting in training new hires or subcontracted services.
  • Enforcing all policies and procedures of the facility.
  • Performing repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Participating in the execution of life safety or damage concerns or loss of property promptly to supervisor or manager.
  • Reviewing daily assignments and special projects.
  • Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets acceptable requirements.
  • Issuing supplies and equipment.
  • Compiling lists for ordering necessary inventories of equipment and supplies.
  • Operating an extractor machine.
  • Working on elevated areas including ladders, scaffolding, and scissor lifts.
  • Assisting other Operations Department divisions to expedite set-up and teardown events.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
