The Event Operations & Parks Ambassador serves as the Parks and Recreation Department's primary field representative during Greensboro's busiest recreation and special event season. Working under the direction of the City's Special Event Coordinator, you'll support event logistics, monitor neighborhood parks, assist event organizers, and help ensure City facilities remain safe, clean, and welcoming. This highly visible position combines customer service, park stewardship, equipment operation, and event support to deliver outstanding experiences for the community. This seasonal position operates primarily April 1 through December 1, averaging up to 30 hours per week. Roster positions are paid hourly and do not include benefits such as medical, dental, or vision insurance, life insurance, paid leave, or paid holidays. Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in a 12-month period. Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city’s pension system. While roster positions do not include benefits, they are often a pathway to full-time, benefited employment with the City. Many of our current full-time employees started in roster positions, and we encourage you to explore this opportunity as a potential first step in your career with us. We value the contributions of all our team members and look forward to welcoming dedicated individuals who share our commitment to serving the community.
