About The Position

The Event Marketing Coordinator is responsible for executing marketing efforts for concerts and events at VSG-managed venues. This role works closely with the Event Marketing Manager to develop and implement show-related marketing initiatives and promotions, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Vinik Sports Group (VSG) is an entity established by Jeff Vinik to manage the three-time Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning (2004, 2020, 2021) of the National Hockey League and hold the leasehold rights to Benchmark International Arena, the 19,092-seat downtown Tampa home in which the team plays its games. The venue opened in 1996 and became Benchmark International Arena in August 2025 when the global mergers and acquisitions firm, Benchmark International, partnered with Vinik and the Lightning. Since 2010, Vinik has led a complete brand and business transformation of the Lightning and the arena, featuring a mostly private renovation of the publicly owned facility. Doug Ostrover and Marc Lipschultz joined the expanded ownership group of Vinik Sports Group in 2024, alongside Arctos, which initially joined in 2021. In addition to owning the Lightning and managing Benchmark International Arena, Vinik Sports Group, through TBSE, manages the Yuengling Center on the campus at the University of South Florida.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years’ experience of marketing, communications, or related roles
  • Experience managing social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Strong ownership and accountability with the ability to manage projects from start to finish without follow-up
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality of work
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to think creatively while maintaining brand consistency
  • Sound judgement and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field preferred
  • Experience in entertainment/sports preferred

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute marketing plans, including grassroots and local promotions, to support venues and events managed by VSG
  • Lead on-site marketing execution for assigned events by ensuring all promotional elements are delivered accurately and on time, as well as coordinate approved reviewers, photographers, and radio stations
  • Support day-to-day operations of social media channels including content creation, scheduling, live event coverage, and fan engagement
  • Oversee local influencer relationships, trade opportunities, and maintain an organized database to support event promotions
  • Develop post-event recaps summarizing marketing initiatives and campaign performance for leadership and promoters
  • Ensure all content and deliverables are accurate, aligned with brand standards, and reviewed prior to publishing
  • Support digital marketing efforts including email marketing, website updates, digital advertising, and reporting analytics
  • Coordinate with Game Operations team to plan and execute event promotions, giveaways, and celebrity appearances during home games
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Ticket Office, Sales, Analytics, and Sports Marketing) to support event promotion and drive ticket sales
  • Maintain strong relationships with promoters and advertising partners
  • Coordinate media opportunities as needed
  • Assist with media buying, budget tracking, and reconciliation of marketing expenses for each event
  • Support graphic design for event marketing campaigns as needed
  • Support overall storytelling and brand presence of VSG
