Event Marketer
About The Position
OpenRouter is seeking an Event Marketer to conceptualize and execute engaging events and experiences. This is a hands-on, execution-first role where you will collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and EPD teams to bring event ideas to life, ranging from intimate founder dinners to large-scale conference activations. The ideal candidate is a proactive individual who can turn concepts into repeatable programs and effectively manage all aspects of event logistics, vendors, budgets, and on-site execution. You will also be responsible for tracking event performance and bringing structure to a growing events program. This role requires adaptability, good taste in event experiences, and comfort with AI-native workflows. Travel will be required.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience running events (startup, tech, or agency)
- Experience with both large conferences/activations and smaller, curated experiences
- Demonstrated ability to be a doer, move quickly, and figure things out
- Strong operator with attention to detail and follow-through
- Comfortable with ambiguity and changing plans
- Possess good taste and distinguish high-signal from forgettable experiences
- Comfortable with AI-native workflows, embracing automation and AI-assisted ways of working
- Ability to travel regularly
Nice To Haves
- Experience with AI, developer tools, or technical audiences
- Experience producing events for founders, startups, or VP and C-level leaders
- Experience in fast-moving, low-structure environments
Responsibilities
- Run events end-to-end
- Execute across various event formats including conference activations, industry events, curated dinners, small gatherings, and partner/community events
- Own logistics, vendors, budgets, timelines, and on-site execution
- Turn ideas into repeatable programs by building lightweight playbooks and templates
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and EPD to support key initiatives and effectively engage developers, startups, AI-native teams, and VP/C-level leaders
- Adjust event formats and execution based on audience
- Coordinate with venues, agencies, and ecosystem partners, including supporting co-hosted events with VCs and communities
- Track event performance and identify areas for improvement
- Bring structure to the events program as volume increases
