About The Position
The Forester Hotel is seeking an Event Manager to join their team. This role is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of events, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for clients and guests. The Event Manager will work closely with the Sales and Catering department to manage all aspects of event planning, from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in event management, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Proven success in managing and executing a variety of events.
- Strong understanding of event planning principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience with a luxury hotel brand or soft-branded property.
- Experience with specific event planning software or platforms.
- Knowledge of catering and food & beverage operations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of event execution, ensuring adherence to client specifications and hotel standards.
- Liaise with clients to understand their event needs, provide recommendations, and ensure clear communication throughout the planning process.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including catering, AV, and operations, to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Develop event timelines, floor plans, and run-of-show documents.
- Oversee on-site event setup, execution, and breakdown.
- Manage event budgets, track expenses, and ensure profitability.
- Conduct post-event evaluations and gather client feedback for continuous improvement.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in event management.
