In partnership with team members the Event Management Specialist will provide support to MFS Event Management team on several key areas of meeting management including speaker request and coordination, event planning and technical support. This role will work across hosted and sponsored events supporting the event team to deliver a seamless event experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Financial Services experience preferred.
  • 0-2+ years of professional experience, preferably in meeting planning or the hospitality industry.
  • Experience with virtual event platforms, knowledge of Cvent or similar event registration software is a plus.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm in a crisis and effective time management is mandatory.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, team-working, collaboration, the ability to problem solve build solid professional relationships, and learn quickly.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to collaborate with people at all levels.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and experience of building PowerPoint slides), familiar with AI tools like Copilot and able to develop proficiency in MFS systems as required to perform the duties of this position.
  • Organized self-starter who can work independently on routine tasks, demonstrating attention to detail and ability to handle multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Customer-service focus with strong problem-solving skills and solutions orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • Financial Services experience preferred.
  • Experience with virtual event platforms, knowledge of Cvent or similar event registration software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively across MFS groups such as Distribution, Investments, Product, Compliance and Legal to achieve objectives.
  • Assist the Event Management with the coordination for both internal and external meetings.
  • Coordinating speakers and program content for global events and meetings.
  • Assisting with venue research, coordinating food, beverage and AV needs.
  • Assists on-site as needed.
  • Supporting the MFS Global Events Team as a liaison between the Investment team and MFS Distribution channels on all meeting-related communication issues.
  • Updates and ensures accuracy of data for speaker management database, reporting, and content-related workflow management.
  • Assists with Cvent registration sites, and other tasks.
  • Provide support to key business partners by responding to requests and addressing concerns in a timely, professional manner—building trusting, valued relationships that result in client satisfaction.
  • Other event administrative duties as required.
