About The Position

As an Event Logistics Worker for the City of Fredericksburg, you will plan and manage logistics for various events. This role will supervise Park Operations Worker II and seasonal staff as the on-site lead and collaborate with the Special Event & Programs Coordinator and other partners to ensure successful events. Additionally, assistance with park and facility maintenance may be required.

Requirements

Minimum age of 18.
Virginia Driver's License and a clean driving record
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years of experience in event operations, event logistics, or a related field.
One (1) year of experience coordinating or leading special events, facility rentals, or public programs.
Certified Driver’s License or ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment may be required.

Nice To Haves

Experience supervising or directing seasonal staff or work crews.
Some basic carpentry and landscaping experience

Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of City and Department events, including setup and breakdown, as well as handling schedules, layouts, staffing, and vendor coordination.
Lead on-site event logistics, directing staff during event preparations, and providing support at City events to ensure smooth execution.
Manage event equipment from delivery to return, maintaining inventory, and scheduling maintenance to ensure everything is in top condition.
This role demands flexible work hours, including weekends and evenings, and entails performing various other related tasks as needed.
