About The Position

The Dream Opportunity is a global nonprofit dedicated to helping students from underserved communities explore career pathways, develop professional skills, and gain exposure to opportunities they might not otherwise discover. We collaborate with prominent global companies to design and deliver engaging career exposure experiences. These events allow students to interact with professionals, learn about diverse career paths, cultivate workplace skills, and access internship and entry-level job prospects. Our corporate partners include industry leaders such as JPMorgan Chase, Blackstone, AT&T, Warner Bros. Discovery, Verizon, Yahoo, Salesforce, EY, Informa, Paramount, and Versace.

We are seeking a dynamic, confident, and captivating Event Host / Emcee to lead career exposure events, workshops, and professional panels for students. In this role, you will be instrumental in bringing the experience to life by welcoming students and corporate professionals, ensuring the program flows smoothly, posing insightful questions, and fostering an environment where students feel empowered to participate. Events can be conducted either in-person or virtually, with potential for paid travel to host events in various locations. This is a flexible, freelance position well-suited for individuals with experience in event hosting, public speaking, acting, presenting, education, facilitation, or working with young people.

• Confident and engaging public speaker.
• Comfortable speaking in front of students and corporate professionals.

• Able to make people feel comfortable and encourage participation.
• Comfortable following a structured program while still showing personality.
• Organized, responsive, and dependable.
• Comfortable receiving coaching and incorporating feedback.
• Passionate about helping students access career opportunities.
• Comfortable working with students and professionals from a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives.
• Available for flexible, part-time event assignments.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as an event host, emcee, actor, presenter, educator, workshop facilitator, public speaker, brand ambassador, or youth program leader.

Responsibilities

• Host career exposure events featuring professionals from leading global companies.
• Facilitate panels, workshops, student activities, and Q&A sessions.
• Introduce speakers and guide conversations with corporate professionals.
• Engage students and encourage participation throughout the experience.
• Bring energy, warmth, professionalism, and personality to every event.
• Attend rehearsals and training sessions before events.
• Learn and deliver structured event scripts and workshop materials.
• Adapt delivery based on the audience and event environment.
• Collaborate with our team to continuously improve workshops and student experiences.
• Provide feedback after events to help strengthen future programming.
