About The Position

The Town of Clayton is seeking applicants for an Event Custodian for the Cultural Arts Department. The Town of Clayton employs more than 340 full-time staff in areas including police, fire, and electric utilities. The Town of Clayton also offers a range of PT positions including positions in Parks & Rec, Library, and Cultural Arts. Requirements

  • Experience in housekeeping in residential and/or commercial settings.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • General knowledge of cleaning practices and cleaning chemicals.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without the loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Complete all assigned tasks within the guidelines & deadlines set by Supervisors and Event Manager.
  • High School Diploma or GED OR Depending on the position, the Town may consider an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating walk behind, scrubbers, and carpet extractors is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain rest rooms; re-stock paper towels, toilet paper and hand soap; sweep and mop floors; clean sinks, mirrors, counters, toilets and urinals
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum and otherwise maintain public and non-public areas prior to and during events; cleans glass in windows and doors
  • Collect recyclables and trash inside the building and outdoors
  • Provide directions and other general assistance to the public
  • Assist Event Staff in setting up or tearing down tables, chairs, staging and draperies, as needed.
