About The Position

The Event Coordinator oversees the implementation, execution, and follow-up for events hosted on- and off-campus. Creates invitations. Selects sites. Creates seating arrangements. Negotiates with florist, caterers, event space staff, print shops, etc. Manages on-site contract staff, students, and etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and some event planning or coordination experience; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of event planning or coordination experience; OR high school diploma or GED and four (4) years of event planning or coordination experience.
  • Must have valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies.
  • Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
  • Demonstrates commitment to supporting all students.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the implementation, execution, and follow-up for events hosted on- and off-campus.
  • Creates invitations.
  • Selects sites.
  • Creates seating arrangements.
  • Negotiates with florist, caterers, event space staff, print shops, etc.
  • Manages on-site contract staff, students, and etc.
  • Oversees all aspects of coordinating events and various special projects for the Career Center and/or the Career Center Satellite Offices, database management regarding events and processing payments.
  • Analyzes national career related trends to ensure that the Career Center events are appropriate for the needs of our students.
  • Completes required training and promoting a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace.
  • Has personal accountability for financial reporting and responsibility for establishing, enforcing, and following internal processes and controls as outlined in UA policies and procedures.
