About The Position

The Event Coordinator oversees the implementation, execution, and follow-up for events hosted on- and off-campus. Creates invitations. Selects sites. Creates seating arrangements. Negotiates with florist, caterers, event space staff, print shops, etc. Manages on-site contract staff, students, and etc. Oversees all aspects of coordinating events and various special projects for the Career Center and/or the Career Center Satellite Offices, database management regarding events and processing payments. Analyzes national career related trends to ensure that the Career Center events are appropriate for the needs of our students. Completes required training and promoting a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace. Has personal accountability for financial reporting and responsibility for establishing, enforcing, and following internal processes and controls as outlined in UA policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and some event planning or coordination experience; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of event planning or coordination experience; OR high school diploma or GED and four (4) years of event planning or coordination experience
  • Must have valid U.S. driver's license
  • Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies
  • Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions
  • Demonstrates commitment to supporting all students
