Event Care Sitter
About The Position
Jovie is hiring Event Childcare Providers to help care for children at special events throughout the summer in Grand Rapids. As an Event Caregiver, you’ll spend your time playing games, leading crafts, and creating a safe, welcoming space for kids while their parents enjoy the event. If you’re energetic, friendly, and love working with children, this is a great way to gain experience, earn extra income, and make a difference—without committing to a full-time schedule. This role offers flexible 4-hour shifts on Fridays and/or Saturdays, a fun, team-based work environment, and is great experience for education, childcare, social work, or healthcare majors. There is an opportunity to pick up extra hours through on-call babysitting or daycare support, and to meet others in the field and gain connections.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of childcare experience
- A positive, dependable, and outgoing attitude
- Enjoys working with kids and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Ability to pass a background check is required
Responsibilities
- Engage kids in age-appropriate activities and play
- Work alongside other caregivers in a group setting
- Help create a positive, safe experience for children and families
- Communicate professionally with parents and staff
